NOTICE OF RESCHEDULED ELECTIONS
Pursuant to Proclamation No. 46 JBE 2020, issued on April 14, 2020, the elections previously scheduled for June 20, 2020 and July 25, 2020 have been rescheduled for July 11, 2020 and August 15, 2020. Early voting for the July 11, 2020 election will be held June 26, 2020 through July 4, 2020 (excluding Sunday, June 28, 2020 and Friday, July 3, 2020) and early voting for the August 15, 2020 election will be held August 1-8, 2020 (excluding Sunday, August 2, 2020).

Presidential Preference Primary/Municipal Primary ElectionThe following is important information for the July 11, 2020 Presidential Preference Primary/Municipal Primary Election:
  • The qualifying period is Jan. 8-10. Local and municipal candidates qualify with the clerk of court in the parish in which they are registered to vote (contact your local clerk of court for office hours). State candidates qualify in the executive offices of Secretary of State, Kyle Ardoin at 8585 Archives Ave (Secretary of State's Office hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.). There are no state candidates (other than president) scheduled to run in this election. Qualifying fees must be paid in the form of cash; certified or cashier's check on a state or national bank or credit union; U.S. postal money order; or money order issued by a state or national bank or credit union and must be accompanied by the qualifying form.
  • The deadline to register to vote in person or by mail is June 10.
  • The deadline to register to vote through the GeauxVote Online Registration System is June 20.
  • Early voting is June 20-July 4 (excluding Sundays) from 8:30 a.m.-6 p.m.
  • The deadline to request an absentee by mail ballot is July 7 by 4:30 p.m. You can request an absentee by mail ballot online through our Voter Portal or in writing through your Registrar of Voters Office (other than military and overseas voters).
  • The deadline for a registrar of voters to receive a voted mail ballot is July 10 by 4:30 p.m. (other than military and overseas voters).
